The mixer unit is a hybrid analog-digital device.
The system is broken up into several logical blocks. Modules
dedicated to handling audio inputs and outputs work in conjunction
with matrix-mixer modules to provide the necessary functionality. A
digital VU meter board provides audio level monitoring capability to
the system. Additionally, a microcontroller is used to control the
functions of the unit, with an LCD to display status information.
Figure 16 shows the overall mixer unit diagram.
This view shows the system in terms of its functional blocks.
