To those that knew him:
On Monday, October 6, 1997 at approximately 1:10PM, the Dudecraft merged
with the infinite, being dragged away by Pete Warren's auto wrecking
service of Paxton, Massachusetts. A brief ceremony was held in which a
set of keys and the title of ownership were exchanged for a sum not
exceeding and not falling short of 25 dollars. The final moments of
viewing are perhaps best described by Pete's statement, "Wow, that is
riding low, isn't it?"
Let it be known that the Land Yacht performed admirably for the 6 years
and 56,000 miles that it was under my care, and that, in the end, all
evils and goods have been appropriately balanced, because after all, 25
bucks is 25 bucks.
It will be missed, but I have abated my grief with knowledge of the
workings of modern metal recycling, and with the hope we may all come into
contact with the spirit of the Venerable Two-Tone Brown/Tan Cruiser of
Love in some other quality American metal object.
A moment silence is acknowleged, but not necessary, as I have 4 years
prior to this day, disconnected the clock in the Frigate on Wheels,
freezing time forever at 12:42PM within the confines of
Caprice-Classic-Space. It knows not the rusty iron hand of time.
Thank you all,
Mike Andrews
